“There are three things extremely hard, Steel, a Diamond, and to know one’s self.” — Benjamin Franklin.
The twenty statement test:
Who are you? Answer the question twenty times
- I am ___
- I am ___
- I am ___
Etc all the way to 20.
“Most humans only live to 40% of their capability. Our minds have a governor. Imagine a car that has a governor. The car can go 130 miles/hour, the governor is set for 90. The car wants to go, but the governor is stopping it. Our brains have a governor, it’s a survival mechanism protecting us from pain and suffering. At all times in life, the mind has a tactical advantage over you.” — David Goggins
“Don’t talk about what you’re going to do. Don’t just dream about what you’re going to do. Don’t criticize somebody else for what they’re not doing. You be it. Be about it. Be about that action and go do it. Keep your eye on the intention. Don’t let any outside distraction or your own insecurities stop you from your goals. Know that you’re about to make the world turn. I see you. You are everything the world needs.” — Beyonce
“Don’t be afraid of failure. What you do next, after failure is what’ll define you. Everyone fails. It’s going to happen to you, it’s going to happen to me, it’s going to happen to everyone. Instead of sitting on your hands and saying I can’t do it again, find the courage inside of you to say, what can I do differently?” — Priyanka Chopra Jonas
How does one gain control? Start by:
- Waking up at the time you choose. Set a time though.
- Making your bed first thing.
- Have plans and think ahead.
- Don’t leave things last minute.
- Don’t let fear control you. If you want to make a new friend or start a business, do it (within reason of course).
- Don’t be limited.
