How To Stay Mentally Healthy

When someone mentions the word ‘healthy’ we usually think about our physical health. However, our mental health is just as important. Here are some easy ways to help guide yourself to becoming mentally healthy and having a clear mind.

  • Meditating.
  • Helping others.
  • Journal.
  • Walk. Take a moment to enjoy nature.
  • Reading.
  • Drawing.
  • Praying.
  • Yoga.
  • Poetry.
  • Take a bath (relaxing)
  • Reflecting. Thinking deeply.
  • Listening to music. Playing an instrument. Whatever works for you.

Tip: Keep a collection of things that make you laugh. It could be funny jokes or memories, write them down and look at them when you’re not feeling.

Reconsider your use of media. The movies/shows you watch, the music you listen to. Watch movies that make you feel good and listen to music that brings you joy and makes you want to dance.

A simple question to ask yourself is: Do I really want this to be a part of me?

For your physical health, you can:

  • Eat balanced meals
  • Utilizing different transport. Perhaps walking or biking.
  • Lift Weights
  • Sleep properly
  • Play sports

In general, there are four components to our health.

  1. Physical Health (Body)
  2. Mental Health (Brain)
  3. Emotional Health & Wellbeing (Hearts)
  4. Spiritual Health (Soul)
