“If something is a tool, it genuinely is just sitting there waiting patiently (example: bicycle). If something is not a tool, it’s demanding things from you. It’s seducing you. It’s manipulating you. It wants things from you.”

  • The example for a non-tool would be social media (demanding things-sending notifications.)

“There are only two industries that call their customers ‘users’: illegal drugs and software.” — Edward Tufte

“It’s the gradual, slight, imperceptible change in your own behavior and perception that is the product.” — Jaron Lanier.

“If you’re not paying for the product, then you are the product.”

Procrastination is caused by one of two things

1 — Too challenging

2 — Too boring

“Your goals do not have an expiration date”

“If you want to be the 1% of people in the world, you gotta do things the other 99% of people aren’t willing to do.”
